The first BIG “Virtual” show is in the books. It turned out far better than I could have expected. If you did not tune in, then you missed out. To those who took the time and stopped in, I want to say a great big heartfelt THANK YOU!

According to the stats that I have been supplied, 258 viewers at a single time with a total unique views of 517. An average watch time of 3 hours and 7 minutes. Seeing how I played for 5 hours and 20 minutes, that is pretty damned good.

The first hour and 15 minutes to hour and 30 minutes were all requests or simply played with no set list. As I got into sets, I did use a set list but ALL music was mixed LIVE. There is NOT another DJ that could play as long as I did, mixing genres as I did.

I have been asked many (hundreds) of times about this EPIC event.  Please, read this through to the end and should you have questions, please feel free to reach out.

FAQ #1:  How Do I Get To This Event

A little back story first.  Because of copyright and patents, Facebook LIVE, Instagram LIVE, and YouTube LIVE will NOT allow big events without major corporate backing.  And this costs money to the end user – ie YOU!  Thus, how can a Professional DJ bring an event (a global event) for ZERO money?  The website is MIXCLOUD.  I have been a part of MIXCLOUD since the inception and it has allowed me to audition for gigs that before were not possible.  And now, many wedding DJ’s and bedroom DJ’s are allowed to perform for the public and I/we flip the bill.  If you do not believe me, then just go and check it out on your own.

Go to:  www.mixcloud.com and register.  This is 100% free.  There is an ap also that is available for FREE in your ap store (but depending upon how you will tune in – this ~may~ not be recommended).  Once you have registered, search for me JAYSJAMS.  Follow my account as it is FREE!  I do not recommend that you subscribe just yet.

That’s it – It’s that simple!

I suggest that you go and get this out of the way.  I also recommend that you test it out before hand.  I have a 100% FREE test set that I have left up just to preview your system.  I did that test about 1 month ago for 20 people.  I was test audio quality and camera angles.  The day of the event, I will not be available to help you.  PLEASE!  Test it beforehand!

FAQ #2:  SCHEDULE

At 6:00pm EDT I will publish the link once I am up and braodcasting. 

It will appear on my personal FB page; the event FB page and on my Website.

HOWEVER, if you have registered on MIXCLOUD and if you are following me, simply login and click on my logo.  You will be taken directly to the event.

AN APPROXIMATE TIME SCHEDULE ALONG WITH A MUSIC SET PREVIEW

6:00PM         Anything & Everything    

Those active in the Chatroom can make requests.  If there is any Country, Motown, or R&B to be played, this is when it will get played.

7:15PM         Music that is 100% identifiable, remixed and remade!

If you are a Beatles fan, you will NOT want to miss my Beatles dance medley!

7:45PM         Disco

Like to dance?  I can guarantee you will be moving.

“A Taste of Honey”, “KC & the Sunshine Band’, and “Lipps Inc” are solid bets.

8:30PM         1980’s Dance Alternative

The clubs that I performed during this time were distinctively different.  They were either Club Alternative based or FUNK based.  This set will feature artists such as: “Yaz”, “INxS”, and “The Escape Club”.

9:15PM         1980’s FUNK

This is probably my favorite music to mix.  I have blown the dust off a few of these remixes just for this epic event.  If you haven’t heard “Prince”, Run DMC”, or “The Beastie Boys” lately, you will.

10:00PM       1990’s

Ah those pre-Y2K years and the classic ‘90’s “Club” music.  “Vanilla Ice’, “The Backstreet Boys”, and “House of Pain” are sure to get you “Jumping Around”!

10:45PM       2000 to today

Yes.  I have to do it.  This was a transitional time for music and I have chose a few dance tunes that will transcend with time.  “Usher”, “Justin Timberlake”, and “Maroon-5” are artist that you will hear.

11:30PM       EDM

While 80’s Funk is my favorite to mix, the EDM music from 2000-today is by far and away my favorite to listen to.  I have created my own versions to a few selections and I will feature those.  “Avicii”, “Martin Garrix”, and “Armin Van Buuren” are sure to keep you moving.  Not sure what “EDM” really is, visit Sirius/XM channel 51 or 52 for a preview.

FAQ #3         Where Are You Located/Where Is This Taking Place

I have a studio set up here at my home in the 28117.  It is called “Birdhouse” because my nickname has always been JayBird.  Sorry visitors are not welcome that night as I will be busy.

FAQ #5         What If I need Help or Have Questions

This is why I recommend testing things out before the 24^th.  I can help you before then.  You can reach me easily via e-mail at:  jay@jaysjams.com.  Depending upon where you are reading this, you can ask here as I will monitor this.  Here is a key; If you stream from a phone or a tablet to a Bluetooth speaker, that is just audio, no video.  I will have 4, maybe 5 cameras up that night.  The easiest for the best picture, is to get your laptop/desk top/or tablet to a HDMI cable to your TV and then through to your home audio.  The feed will come in at 1080HD with an audio feed of 256.

So here we go!

DATE AND TIME

The event is on Saturday October 24, 2020 from 6:00pm EDT until at least 11:00pm EDT.

HOW TO SEE IT – VIEW IT – AND PARTICIPATE

The link will be posted on my website (www.jaysjams.com) as well as on Facebook.  I will post it on my wall and I will post it on the event section.  You will be able to click the link and go directly to the event.  You will be able to view the event and listen.

However, if you want to participate, you will need to go to:

At mixlab, register to become a member.  It is 100% FREE!

Then search for me (jaysjams) and follow me. 

Following is 100% FREE – I would recommend just following for now.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC

Starting at 6:00pm EDT, I will play anything.  And I do mean anything. 

If you are a Country buff, this is your best bet to hear a country tune or two.  I will be taking requests.  To request a song, you will need to be active in the chat room.  Hence, you will need to register and follow me.

If you are a Motown/R&B fan, same applies.

Between 8:00pm and 8;30pm (EDT), the first official “set” will be disco.  I will do my best from here on the watch the chat room, but now I will be in my element.

I will move into the 80’s with Club music, Funk, and of course the “Midnight Funk Association”.

Up into the 90’s we go and the night will progress accordingly.

The last official “set” will feature music from today.  If you need some insight into this, Sirius/XM channel 51 and 52 will provide a preview.

If the room is packed (which it will be), I will keep playing until my neighbors complain!
